Our Research Group

Advancing scientific discovery through curiosity, collaboration, and innovation to empower the next generation of researchers through mentorship and hands-on experience.

Megan Conkling, Ph.D.

Principal Investigator

My academic training and research experience have provided me with an excellent background in multiple scientific disciplines including oceanography, cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, and geoscience. Throughout my years of experience, I have laid the groundwork for establishing and maintaining a sponge cell biobank, developing cell models to better understand cellular and molecular processes in sponges, and using sponge cell culture for in vitro production of sponge-derived chemicals.

The Team

We are always looking to add dedicated students and postdoctoral scholars to our group, although we may not have the space or funding at the time of your inquiry. Regardless, if you are interested in joining the lab, please send your contact information and research interests.
